Leopold® I.M.S 200 and I.M.S 1000 media retainers are designed to eliminate the need for gravel media support and ensure effective media cleaning in water and wastewater gravity media filtration systems. 

Providing a more effective option than gravel, Leopold’s next-generation media retainers pair with Leopold underdrains to provide superior performance and worry-free operation. I.M.S media retainers increase flexibility in filtration media design by replacing up to 14 in (35 cm) of support gravel, allowing additional media depth, increased filter freeboard, or a reduced vertical footprint. 

  • Suitable for wastewater plants, biologically active filters, denitrification filters, and more

Efficient media cleaning for wastewater

Providing a more effective media retention option than gravel in most applications, the I.M.S® 1000 media retainer is engineered to improve backwash air and water distribution for cleaner media. 

Thanks to its physically rigid construction and injection molded slots, the I.M.S 1000 media retainer eliminates dead spaces and provides longer filter runs. The patented baffles on the bottom of the plate are designed to ensure that air doesn’t roll to the high end of the cap.

Increased filter height availability

I.M.S media retainers replace up to 14 in (35 cm) of gravel media support, allowing for the same media depth in less vertical space or a longer air/water backwash to deep clean the media.
