The city of Columbia, Tennessee, experienced a major pump failure in the spring of 2020 that led to sewage overflows, spurring them to engage Xylem Rental Solutions for an emergency pump rental. Xylem engineered a custom temporary bypass system with Flygt electric submersible pump.

One customer, operating a hard rock nickel mine in Ontario, needed an efficient and reliable solution to transport its mine slime from an underground sump back to the surface while ensuring continuity in production and minimizing downtime.

In order to further protect its customers’ drinking water and comply with the latest WIMES and DWI disinfection regulations, Cambridge Water needed to differentiate between the alarms for “quartz sleeve failure” and “UV lamp failure” at its Hinxton Grange facility, thereby allowing operators to take decisive and immediate action in the event of a problem.

A Southeast manufacturer of printed circuit boards for the defense and medical industries was experiencing poor and inconsistent water quality on their board washing process, which utilized a deionization (DI) system from a local water treatment company. The water quality issue was resulting in re-work of off-spec boards, additional labor to re-process boards that failed quality control review, and higher costs overall.

In mid-2015, a chemical plant located along the Gulf Coast experienced an emergency chemical spill which upset their treatment processes. The company reached out to Evoqua Water Technologies with an urgent need to treat wastewater that had been contaminated by a chemical release at their site.
