Webinar: Establishing Resilience: A 3-Part Action Plan for Harmful Algal Blooms

Potable water treatment plant operators (WTPOs) must proactively develop Action Plans catered to their watershed, source, and facilities in order to establish resilience against HABs. We will provide a 3-part framework for an HAB Action Plan: Manage, Monitor, and Mitigate. WTPOs must become involved in watershed management to minimize HAB-stimulating factors. A source-to-finished water monitoring program will hone a treatment process for reducing the threats of algal toxins and taste and odor compounds. Monitoring supports ongoing mitigation, established by bringing the right treatment technologies on line at the right time.
