Proper mixing can make or break a treatment process. Too much mixing can result in excess turbulence, introduce unneeded air, waste energy/resources and even damage to other equipment in a tank. Too little mixing can result in solid settling, dead zones, and inadequate contact of microbes with contaminants. Proper mixing, however, can enhance treatment processes, result in less chemical usage, and save energy. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a proven method to predict mixing quality in a fluid.
