Smith-Blair’s 632 Tapping Sleeves consist of two sections of heavy welded steel which bolt together on the pipe and seal against a concave wedge gasket around the tap opening.

  • Reduces Inventory: The built-in range means one sleeve fits a range of pipe ODs.
  • Time Saving: A normal crew can install and complete tap in less time than it takes to install other types of sleeves.
  • Ease of Installation: No caulking, welding or special tools are needed. A wrench to tighten bolts is the only tool required to install sleeve on pipe.
  • Reinforces Pipe Sleeve design: directly reinforces pipe without need of shims or pads and weighs less than heavy cast iron sleeve.
  • Non-Standard Sizes Available: Sleeves with heavy flanges or for non-standard size pipe are available on request.

Smith-Blair Tapping Sleeves consist of two sections of heavy welded steel that bolt together on the pipe and seal against a concave wedge gasket around the tap opening. The outlet half has a recessed flat-faced flange to mate with standard tapping valves MSS SP 60 up through 12-inch size-on-size. For tap sizes 14-inch and above, flanges can be furnished to accommodate the valve requirements.
