THE ROLE: The Mobile Technician - Diesel will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing diesel pumping and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner in the shop or at a customer job site. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Service diesel engines and pump ends.
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing on fleet equipment between each rental.
- Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems, and hydraulic malfunctions.
- Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.
- Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology.
- Commercial Driver License B - Preferred
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
- Diesel engine experience, training or combination of education, training and experience
- Diagnosing basic diesel, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical problems
- General DC electric and circuit testing skills
- Safety practices and procedures
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Commercial Driver License B - Preferred
- DOT Medical Card
DAY IN THE LIFE: In this role, the working environment is subject to frequently working outdoors, temperature fluctuations, noise, and fumes within limits of OSHA standards. The physical demands may include but not limited to sitting and standing for long periods of time, reaching, bending, moving, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. This position is expected to work an on-call rotational schedule that may consist of weekends and nights as a regular part of the job.
SALARY: Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
