The WMX101-Series flanged electromagnetic flow meters are the perfect replacement for your old 4 to 10 inch industrial mechanical turbine or propeller flow meters.  Because the electromagnetic flow meters have no moving parts and have electrodes designed to discourage fouling, the flow meter performs well and requires much less frequent maintenance in applications where debris would impede propeller meters.  These electromagnetic flow meters do not have rotors which stop turning or bearings which wear out.  WMX101-Series flanged electromagnetic flow meters are also designed to work with minimal straight pipe run requirements, which is great when you have very little space between the meter and an elbow. 

The WMX Series flanged electromagnetic flow meters' electronics are housed in a rugged NEMA 4X aluminum enclosure with a 2-line LCD that clearly displays the flow rate and totalizer.  The industrial electromagnetic flow meters' display housing is fitted with tamper-evident features.  An optional IP68 (NEMA 6P) rated housing is available for applications where the electromagnetic flow meter may be under water up to a depth of 9.8 ft (3 m) for prolonged periods of time. 

The WMX101 electromagnetic flow meters are externally powered with 8-32 Vdc at 30 mA max (see NOTE in Specifications).  A tamper-sealed shielded power/pulse output cable is included with the electromagnetic flow meter.  Two Lithium 3.6V "AA" batteries provide auxiliary power during power failures, allowing the electromagnetic flow meter to continue recording flow rate and total without interruption for the duration of the outage.  Where external power loss is infrequent, the electromagnetic flow meter battery life can exceed 10 years.  The electromagnetic flow meter's 20-foot power cable also provides a pulse output for use with a variety of devices such as a FT420 4-20mA converter and remote display, PLC, telemetry system, or data logger.  High frequency pulse rate (required for use with 4-20 mA converters) is standard with the electromagnetic flow meters; additional pulse rates are optional.  A pulse-to-analog converter can be added if a 4-20 mA signal is needed from the electromagnetic flow meter. 

The WMX104 electromagnetic flow meters are battery-operated meters for use when pulse output is not required or line power is not readily available.  Two Lithium 3.6V "D" batteries provide power to the electromagnetic flow meter and are replaceable with an approximate 1-year life under continuous use, or more depending on the duty cycle.  An optional input/output cable can be installed post-factory on the electromagnetic flow meter if a pulse output is needed. 

Rate and total indication are standard on both electromagnetic flow meter models.  Electromagnetic flow meters are customer-selected and factory-set.  The electromagnetic flow meter's display units will be set to GPM for flow rate and US Gallons for total flow if no units are selected at the time of purchase.  These units cannot be changed on the electromagnetic flow meters in the field.  If you would like alternate units to display the electromagnetic flow meters support the following options: Rate: MGD, Liters/minute, Liter/second, CFM, CMH, Mega Liter/day; Total: Gallons, Gallons x 1000, Liter, Liter x 1000, Mega Liter, CU Feet, CU Feet x 1000, CU Meters, CU Meter x 1000.
