Xylem's Leopold Filterworx performance filter is another example of how Xylem has been at the forefront of gravity media filtration for decades.  Filterworx combines multiple components – underdrains, integral media support, flume, engineered media, backwash water troughs, and system controls – into a single gravity media filtration system that best meets application and permit needs.

Xylem engineers work with customers to develop a cost-effective, energy efficient and high performance system.  Filter runs are maximized while costs and wastewater generation are minimized by evaluating the characteristics of the incoming water, selecting the best media characteristics, determining optimal loading rates, design configuration, and backwash process.

The right components and strong support

Every filter component is engineered for energy and water efficiency.  Xylem's flat-bottom flume filter reduces excavation requirements and simplifies new construction while troughs help conserve media.  The Filterworx control system continuously monitors filtrate quality and filter bed conditions, and Xylem can provide anthracite engineered media with the lowest uniformity coefficient in the industry.
