The Role: Xylem seeks a Pump & Service Mechanic to join the Winnipeg team. Reporting to the branch manager, the Pump & Service Mechanics primary duties wil include, but not limited to: diagnosing, disassembling, repairing and servicing Flygt wastewater pumps, mixers & controls. The applicant will be required to assist with field work including mechanical / electrical start-ups, service calls and preventative maintenance agreements.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
•Diagnose, disassemble and repair electrical submersible pumps and mixers at our location.
•Test submersible pumps and mixers in our test tank.
•Perform field work to wastewater pumping stations.
•Complete service reports for field work activities.
•Handle incoming customer service inquiries.
•Assist in Shipping & Receiving duties at the location.
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
•You have completed grade 12 and graduated from a Community College or Technical College in Electrical or Mechanical Field or have equivalent industry experience.
•One to two years of experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of industrial equipment would be an asset.
•On the job training is provided.
•A valid driver’s license is required.
•Only local applicants will be considered for this position.
•Experience working with electric motors would be an asset.
•Experience working with single and three phase controls would be an asset.
•Proficient with using Microsoft Office programs.
•Lifting equipment and parts (30-40 pounds), shop environment.
•Standing at work bench while performing repairs.
•Regularly required to listen, talk to, and see employees on a daily basis.
•Operating overhead, jib and HIAB cranes.
•Operation of lift truck and crane truck.
•Shop environment where appropriate PPE use is required.
•Shop work on equipment used in the water and wastewater industry.
•Site work on equipment used in the water and wastewater industry.
•Outdoor work on equipment used in the water and wastewater industry.
•Standard weekly job hours is 37.5 hour
•Some overtime and travel is required. Travel: 25%.
