In partnership with local utility Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, we awarded Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WILSAR) in Melksham, UK with a grant to meet the increasing costs associated with assisting local National Health Service trust hospitals and ambulance stations in response to COVID-19. In addition to their usual search and rescue commitments, the volunteers at WILSAR are heavily involved in both patient and vital equipment transport and these trips require full, new sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The grant will help ensure that volunteers have sufficient PPE to be able to keep both their volunteers and patients safe.

It's essential that the PPE provided to volunteers is appropriate and protects them from the hazards they face. This includes testing masks to make sure they have a tight seal around the Lowland Rescue First Responder's faces; they have several types to ensure everyone gets one that matches their features.
