Xylem employee by day, Blood Biker by night

Our Xylem colleague in the UK exemplifies the true meaning of ‘wearing multiple hats’. As a volunteer for the Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes who, along with the NHS workers are classed as key workers during this pandemic, he’s been on duty in the evenings since being asked to work from home. Once he’s completed working for Xylem during the day, he dons his ‘Blood’ vest and starts volunteering at night.

During this unprecedented time, he has taken on extra services for the Blood Bikes charity including the transportation of COVID-19 samples. The charity is 100% voluntary and Blood Bikers continue to give their free time. Recently he had a break from transporting COVID-19 samples and was asked to do a bulk transfer of patient notes between Kings Mill Hospital in Mansfield and their counterpart at Bassetlaw District General Hospital in Worksop.

This act of kindness is inspiring to all of us, and we thank you for giving up your free time to support others during these challenges times!
