The Role: Sensus, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Senior Technical Content Specialist to be a subject matter expert, responsible for producing winning proposal content that describes Sensus’ solutions and components using a voice where the reader is informed of the solution, the technical merits as well as the value to them. The material can be technical in nature when facts are needed but also provide the appropriate marketing and sales perspective to promote solution value.

The Senior Technical Content Specialist reports to the Bids and Proposals Manager. The individual will have two primary responsibilities; the first is to provide direct input into Sensus’ RFP responses. Including technical and marketing guidance to the proposal lead; assisting with questions and reviewing Sensus’ entire RFP response for completeness. The other core responsibility is to be a major contributor to updating the Sensus proposal content used by proposal leads to populate bid responses.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Produce quality proposal content; technical and marketing in nature
  • Work quickly and independently with minimum supervision to meet scheduling requirements
  • Work with proposal leads to guide technical and marketing aspects of a bid
  • Provide informal training to proposal team on solutions and components to aid their understanding of the market and Sensus solutions

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical field or marketing field or a related field of study
  • Utility industry experience required
  • 5+ years of related work experience required
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Highly motivated individual who is able to grasp complex software and hardware products quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Minimal travel required
  • Local candidate preferred
