An integrated software and analytics platform helping water utilities to reduce combined sewer overflows has been recognised at the Water, Wastewater & Environmental Monitoring (WWEM) event.
Xylem Vue powered by GoAigua won the award for Smart Network Monitoring at a ceremony at the NEC, Birmingham, UK, on 9 October 2024.
The platform, which provides a complete view of both water and wastewater networks, was built through a partnership between technology provider Xylem and data management specialist Idrica, which is headquartered in Spain.
The WWEM award judges heard examples of the technology being successfully applied to support wastewater network optimisation in the USA.
Barry Hopton, head of client relationships at Xylem UK, said: “The recognition of Xylem Vue powered by GoAigua for smart network monitoring highlights how digital innovation can truly transform water management.
“As we continue to see the power of artificial intelligence and digital twin technologies reducing spills and improving river health, it is exciting to think about what’s coming next. Collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to protecting our waterways make a big difference.”
