StoneyBrook Estates Campground
Carbon County, Pennsylvania USA
As one of the few year-round facilities of its kind in northeast Pennsylvania, the relatively new StoneyBrook Estates Campground was designed to accommodate the needs of thousands of campers each year. Located in historical Carbon County, Pennsylvania, the campground is in a wooded setting near Beltzville Lake and state park. The campground offers vacation campsites for RV’s, trailers and pop-ups, and an abundance of nearby attractions and campground activities, which makes it a popular vacation destination for family-oriented travelers.
Since swimming pools and shower facilities are important considerations when campers are selecting a destination, StoneyBrook wanted to ensure that its 30,000-gallon swimming pool and shower house were functioning effectively and efficiently. That’s when camp owners Jonathan and Shelby Ammary decided to contact Goulds Water Technology dealer Hayman Water Systems, a water well pump and treatment company in nearby Lehighton, Pennsylvania to install a new water system to better serve their guests.
Upon analyzing the pool and shower house facilities and the challenges associated with the project, Hayman recommended a system that included two Goulds Water Technology 2HP AquaBoost variable speed booster pumps and a 25GPM 1.5HP submersible pump to supply water to a 1,000-gallon polyethylene underground water storage tank. The AquaBoost pump is specifically designed as a compact, easy to install and maintain package for applications where sufficient main pressure is not available or elevation is a problem.
Hayman installed the new 1.5hp 25gpm submersible pump on to a 1/1/4″ 200psi coil pipe with Bell & Gossett float controls in the water storage tank after going through a water meter, which provided the most efficient constant flow from the well. A flow switch was added to activate a CL2 feed pump to add chlorine to the water as needed. When the water is pumped from the well it exits the holding tank through a 2″ SCH80 PVC line and splits to a 1¼” line to go to the two AquaBoost pumps that service 84 trailer campsites, the pool and shower house.
Hayman added, “The installation of dual booster pumps provides a back up system if one pump would fail. This fail-safe system will ensure visitors have running water 365-days a year, which is a very nice amenity when you are camping.”
“We could not be more pleased with the selection of products and installation Mark and the team from Hayman Water Systems provided. They were truly focused on providing the best service possible,” said Jonathan Ammary.
