CHICAGO, Illinois – October 2, 2017 - Leading global water technology company, Xylem (NYSE: XYL), has announced that the new Godwin NC150S Dri-Prime pump - the first pump to be unveiled from Xylem’s Godwin S Series of smart dewatering pumps - will offer Isuzu Final Tier 4 (FT4) engines as standard for customers in the US market. Starting with the Godwin S Series, Xylem commits to offer only Final Tier 4 (FT4) engines that deliver high performance while significantly reducing carbon emissions.
The Godwin NC150S, launched by Xylem at the Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) this week, is equipped with Isuzu’s 4LE2X industrial diesel engine - an advanced, powerful diesel engine that complies with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Final Tier 4 (FT4) requirements, and has been shown to deliver significantly greater uptime and lower maintenance. As a result, the Godwin NC150S reduces total cost of ownership with emissions cut by 90 percent and fuel consumption by 10 percent on average. In addition, a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) significantly reduces maintenance compared to Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) or Diesel Emission Fluid (DEF) technology. DOC technology does not require costly regeneration cycles.
Kevin Snow, Godwin Global Product Manager, said, “We are committed to providing the most reliable, easiest to maintain, fuel efficient pumps in the industry, and to help our customers reduce their carbon footprint with EPA compliant engine technology. We first introduced FT4 engines on our Godwin pumps in 2014 and have thousands of hours of hands-on service and maintenance experience, meaning that Xylem is uniquely positioned to support customers as they transition to FT4 pumps. Adding Isuzu’s diesel engines to the Godwin S Series – the smart solution for water - allows Xylem to continue to lead the market in providing customers with a full range of proven Final Tier 4 solutions.”
David Smith, Industrial Business Development Manager at Mack Boring & Parts Co., distributors of Isuzu engines, added, “Isuzu has a rich legacy in supplying cutting-edge industrial engines to partners all over the world and we are committed to continuously charging ahead in pursuit of reliability, durability, and eco-friendliness. We are pleased to be working with Xylem as we support customers in the transition to new engine standards. Isuzu’s 4LE2X diesel engines will deliver a broad range of benefits to customers operating Godwin S Series pumps. As well as delivering high fuel efficiency, the Tier 4 compliant engine is covered by a five year/5,000-hour warranty and only requires servicing approximately every 500 hours, reducing maintenance time and cost to customers.”
Snow continued, “The NC150S is a best-in-class, smart dewatering pump that makes easy work of stringy, modern wastewater to outsmart water. Its unrivalled efficient and effective dewatering capability means that customers can enjoy peace of mind knowing that whatever water challenge comes their way, this smart solution is equipped to handle it and at a lower total cost of ownership.”
The first-in-series Godwin NC150S will be on display at Xylem’s booth at WEFTEC (♯1248, South Hall A) from October 2-4.
