Water One® WX services improves operational efficiency for microelectronics manufacturing
At a Midwest printed circuits manufacturer, achieving optimal water treatment efficiency became a critical concern. The 80,000 square foot facility faced the constant challenge of promptly detecting disruptions in their treatment processes, while also striving to streamline operations, reduce costs, and maintain high product quality.

Mine facility lowers metal levels in discharge
A Minnesota mine reduced copper and cobalt in its discharge using wastewater ion exchange, achieving compliance without chemicals and adapting to seasonal flow increases.

Mobile equipment helps mining operation meet metal limits
In order to expand operations and maintain a water balance in South Carolina’s wet climate, Nevada Goldfields’ Barite Hills gold mining operation required a treatment plant to handle its wastewater. At this mining site, the company extracts gold from soil using a high pH cyanide leaching solution. The process generated large volumes of cyanide and metal laden wastewater, which they had been storing on-site.

Soil and groundwater remediation
Soil and groundwater remediation projects often call for treatment of groundwater, soil vapor extraction condensate, soil vapor and other liquid and vapor streams for removal of volatile and semi volatile organic compounds. Xylem's Carbonair has provided thousands of STAT Low Profile Air Strippers, liquid phase and vapor phase carbon vessels for remediation systems over our 30 plus years in business.

Automatic screen filters provide better fit over media filtration
A medical center in Georgia needed filtration for its three 400 ton cooling towers due to fouling/corrosion issues, silt and organic accumulation in the basins resulting in Legionella habitat buildup, and replacement of cooling tower fill due to plugged fill channels from unfiltered cooling water.

Xylem ensures reliable high-purity water for a medical laboratory
A leading Florida medical center features a state-of-the-art clinical diagnostics laboratory with a complete range of blood analysis services. The water requirements for new clinical analyzers installed in the lab was less than 10 mg/L total organic carbon (TOC) and conductivity less than 0.1 cm at 25 c. In order to meet these requirements, the medical center needed to update their water purification system.

Orange County Water District Removes PFAS With 30 Systems
In February 2020, the California State Water Resources Control Board announced revised drinking water Response Levels for perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) in drinking water. The new Response Levels (RLs) were set at 10 parts per trillion (ppt) for PFOA and 40 ppt for PFOS. The previous RL was 70 ppt for a combined total concentration for the two contaminants.

Removing Zinc from Wastewater to Meet Compliance for Automotive Part Manufacturing
A Midwest manufacturer of automotive parts was experiencing elevated levels of zinc in the effluent from their existing conventional wastewater treatment system. This wastewater was generated through a multi-stage cleaning and zinc phosphate process which produced elevated levels of both particulate and dissolved zinc in the wastewaters.
