While many Americans have access to water for sanitizing and washing their hands, there are still vulnerable populations, such as the homeless who are not able to participate in this practice, as they don’t have access to soap and water. With the commitment and passion for helping the local community, the Atlanta Sensus office is supporting health and hygiene practices as a priority for the homeless in Atlanta during the pandemic.
Xylem’s Atlanta employee volunteers coordinated an employee-matching fundraiser to raise money for the nonprofit organization, Love Beyond Walls, with the goal of installing 100 portable sinks in Atlanta for the homeless, reinforcing that health and hygiene is a basic human right for all. Although the employee-led fundraiser is based in Atlanta, employees from all over the US have also contributed. Our employee volunteers’ goal is to have 10 other cities join this initiative in the next 45 days.
We’re proud to spotlight this Act of Kindness by our Xylem employee volunteers. Click here to see local news coverage by Atlanta news station.
