Xylem's Smith-Blair 229 Full Circle Collar Leak Clamp is designed as an easy way to fix a leaky solvent weld bell on PVC pipe without cutting or draining the pipe by assembling parts outside the collar. This innovative repair solution can be installed without cutting or draining the pipe, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming pipe replacement. The clamp is specifically engineered for leaking plastic solvent weld belled end pipe joints and accommodates pipe sizes ranging from 2" to 12" nominal. The 229 provides comprehensive coverage for various collar leak repair scenarios on PVC joints and threaded steel couplings. The nominal temperature range of -20°F to 180°F makes it suitable for a wide variety of applications and environments. The 360° gasket seal provides sealing pressure across the entire circumference of the collar joint. The clamp is specifically designed for PVC joints and threaded Steel couplings, providing an effective solution for repairing leaking plastic solvent weld belled end pipe joints. HDPE applications require clamps with spring washers for optimal performance. The clamp is also available in metric sizes to accommodate international specifications.
