About OI Analytical
The company was first organized in 1963 and entered the analytical instrument business in 1969. On October 31, 2011 OI Analytical became a Xylem brand and operates as part of the Xylem Analytics business unit.
OI Analytical is located in College Station, Texas. A second facility producing GC-based air monitoring systems and mass spectrometry instruments is based in Birmingham, Alabama.
OI Analytical is an ISO-9001 certified organization that operates under a Quality Management System (QMS) to continuously improve the quality of our products, services, and business processes.
Our company vision is Opportunity through Innovation®. We strive to provide innovative products and services that enable our customers to pursue new opportunities and tackle challenging problems in diverse fields of science and industry.
What We Offer
Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzers
Total organic carbon (TOC) measurement is a well-established technique that provides valuable information about water quality for process control and regulatory compliance. Though high-temperature combustion TOC has been shown to be very effective for the analysis of samples that are of high molecular weight or contain substantial amounts of salt or difficult-to oxidize organics (e.g, humic acid), these types of samples are problematic for combustion TOC analyzers.
Total Organic Carbon (TOC) is an important water quality parameter, and OI Analytical's reliable TOC instrumentation process naturally-occurring and synthetic compounds for analysis of TOC, TIC, and NPOC content. Offering both heated-persulfate and combustion TOC, OI Analytical is a trusted partner in providing TOC analysis for laboratories around the world.
Continuous Flow Analyzers, or Automated Chemistry Analyzers
Manual sample preparation is time-consuming and can negatively impact lab efficiency and data quality. Flow analysis automates both simple and complex, multi-step analysis procedures requiring in-line sample preparation. Improve workflow with OI Analytical’s flow chemistry analyzers, providing the capability to run multiple flow methods simultaneously.
OI Analytical designs and manufactures laboratory, online, and field instruments for environmental, petrochemical, water quality, and food and beverage applications. For years, laboratories have turned to OI Analytical for accurate, reliable continuous flow analyzers. Our next generation of flow instrumentation features game-changing technology that significantly improves laboratory workflow, making the Flow Solution 3700 Automated Chemistry Analyzer the most efficient, flexible, and easy-to-use system available for automated wet chemistry analysis.
As an industry leader in cyanide analysis, the FS3700 combines the advantages of Segmented Flow Analysis (SFA) and Flow Injection Analysis (FIA) technologies in one complete system. While defeating the hassle of individual technologies, the FS3700 simultaneously reduces wasted resources and improves laboratory safety. The FS3700 pairs with FlowView, which is an extremely intuitive software interface with 64-bit compatibility.
The OI Analytical CNSolution™ 9310 Online Cyanide Analyzer is designed to measure available cyanide in precious metal leaching solutions by USEPA Method OIA-1677 and ASTM D 6888-09. The gas-diffusion amperometry technique in these methods has been demonstrated to be free of interferences from copper and metallic sulfides that impair the accuracy of traditional techniques such as titration.

Gas Chromatography (GC) Detectors
Select GC detectors to enhance chromatographic performance by measuring trace levels of target compounds in the presence of higher concentration compounds, or matrix interferences. OI Analytical offers various sensor detector technologies including Pulsed Flame Photometric Detector (PFPD), Halogen Specific Detector (XSD), and Electrolytic Conductivity Detector (ELCD). The use of an OI Analytical tandem GC Detector combines a photoionization detector (PID) with a Flame Ionization Detector (FID) or a second selective detector provides two simultaneous chromatograms from a single run.
