Condition assessment platform

Gather data on the condition of the pipe wall without taking the pipe out of service.

A long distance, free-swimming condition assessment tool, PipeDiver provides utility owners with a method to inspect critical, large diameter transmission mains that cannot be removed from service due
to lack of redundancy or operational constraints. Its flexibility allows the tool to travel through a variety of pipe configurations including butterfly valves and sharp bends and tees, and because it deploys through existing appurtenances it often reduces cost and effort to the utility.

Pipeline owners receive comprehensive data on the condition of the pipe wall. For PCCP that means identifying broken prestressing wire wraps, while on metallic it identifies localized areas of corrosion. PipeDiver inspections give clients the condition data for their pressure pipe assets that identifies what needs to be addressed today and what to plan for in the future.

Inspection Benefits

  • Understand the condition of the pipe wall
  • Make proactive repair and replacement decision
  • Avoid failures and plan for capital replacement
  • Little to no disruption to regular pipeline service
  • Long inspection distances can be covered in a single deployment
  • Accurate results that pinpoint areas of distress help optimize repair planning
  • Avoid shutdown and dewatering

Case study: Milwaukee Metro Sewer (metallic) (only for online use)

Case study: Evides Watercompany, The Netherlands (metallic) (only for online use)
