Drawing on their experience, the Senior Field Engineer (SFE) assumes the entire accountability for delivering the most challenging assessment services projects from conception to completion. The key component of success is fostering long-term trusted relationships with clients by providing technical expertise, communicating clear expectations, and focusing on the root of their problem.

The position learns, deploys, and helps to innovate and improve best practices for project delivery. Enables successful project delivery by understanding and managing risks, constraints, and obstacles. While on site, acts as a leader and mentor, adapting to challenges and making key decisions that ensure safe and successful project delivery.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

Planning for Project Success

•Manage entire project process in detail for multiple clients and projects
•Ensures civil work (site modifications, pipeline operational requirements) is understood and risks are mitigated.
•Understands different pipeline materials, including failure modes and available rehabilitation methods
•Understands staffing requirements and ensures successful team development
•Develops condition assessment scopes of work in support of business development.
•Reviews contract terms and implements change orders if necessary

Project Execution

•Maximizes value creation for clients by delivering results that address their most pressing needs.
•Accountable for the financial health of projects based on contract terms inclusive of project charter, schedule, budget, accurate forecasting
•Primary point of contact for communication with clients and third-party subcontractors
•Adapt to unanticipated risks, evaluate alternatives, and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies
•Ensures safe work practices and SOPs are implemented throughout the project life cycle.
•Ensure project deliverables are compliant with all applicable codes and standards, both internally and externally.
•Provide training delivery and mentorship to other delivery team members

Minimum Qualifications: 

•Post Secondary education + preferred minimum of five (5) years of related work experience
•Deep understanding of water/energy industry
•Ability to read and understand construction drawings
•Ability to analyze contrasting solutions and employ innovative thinking to solve complex problems, successfully managing people and situations
Knowloedge of pipelines is preferrable 
•Strong business acumen, understands project margin drivers, market, and environmental factors
•Experience working directly with customers/clients onsite
•Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Manages competing demands, and able to deal with frequent change, delays, and unexpected events
•Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
•Proven ability to make decisions that are based on analytics/facts/observations and adhere to standard operating procedures/policies
•Demonstrate a commitment to Safety, Environment, and Quality.


•Required to travel to meet with clients or be present on the worksite in Spain Up to 30%
(50% of the work will be in Barcelona)
