Grow with us as a Regional Sales Manager (South-East UK) within Xylem!

The position can be based anywhere in the South East region and is sales focused within the South East of the UK working in a Industry & Infrastructure focused (non Municipal) sales team reporting to an Industry & Infrastructure (Non Municipal) sales manager. In the end, you will make it possible we solve water challenges every day, together with our customers!

The position will be responsible for the development of business created within the Southern regions also working with the Xylem sales teams in the regions to ensure maximum gain’s in share of wallet by offering all Xylem products and services which include;

  • Service Projects, Installs, Repair & Refurbishment Works,
  • Waste Water & Clean Water Products,
  • Treatment Products & Projects,
  • ICA Telemetry Products & Services,
  • New Product offerings such as Pure Technologies Asset Conditioning / Leakage Detection Services
  • Sensus Metering & Visenti Software Solutions

You will be responsible for the development of business created in the South East regions in the way of developing sales with customers such as Industrial, Construction, Environmental, Offshore, Ports, Airports, Road & Rail as well as Contractors and Consultants for focusing on  sales opportunity.

The different responsibilities within this role

  • Reporting to the Industry & Infrastructure (Non Municipal) Sales Manager and working in close co-operation with the Area Service Manager(s) in your region, your Non Municipal national team and other field sales engineers, product champions i.e. Treatment, ICA, Clean & Waste Water in developing the sales growth through in line with Xylem Water Solutions Strategy.
  • To include focus on Service sales and also Product sales revenue, with a clear focus on market business development for short, medium and long term projections.
  • To work with the local Xylem Service Area Manager & Service Teams to ensure above market rate growth of service sales within the region whilst ensuring an aligned and channeled approach.
  • To develop and grow existing and previously lost customers and obtain new customers in the Service focused market within the Southern regions that suit the Xylem Service capability to win and maximise the potential gain in share of wallet.
  • To develop and maintain Account Plans and Call Plans in the Southern regions and ensure they are being followed, supported and developed by the business in order to drive growth and sustain the strong relationships already in place, thus bringing them closer to Xylem.
  • To proactively create new, develop and maintain key contracts within the Southern regions ensuring discounts/rebate schemes are in place where applicable and are up to date. The discounts/rebate schemes will need to be coordinated with the Xylem back office to ensure correct accruals of fees and discounts are applied as appropriate.
  • To actively manage the non muni Sales Budget for the South East region, whilst identifying growth areas to enhance set budgets.
  • To research and maintain market intelligence, including information on competitors and price levels to assist in day to day decisions and the formulation of strategy and budget planning regarding the allocated markets.
  • To monitor competitor performance on agreements.
  • Actively drive the Southern regions, whilst seeking out new opportunities and leads to provide continual and incremental growth.
  • Ensuring customer accounts are managed effectively from a Finance perspective by working closely with Xylem Accounts department to ensure accounts do not become overdue and that measures are in place to monitor customer payments.
  • To organise, facilitate and deliver Xylem Presentations, Lunch & Learns etc. direct to all Customer variants. In addition, to organise customer events such as innovation days, site visits, factory visits and other associated customer facing events as part of the annual marketing plan or the strategic customer business plan for the region.
  • Any other duties, within your capabilities, as required by Management. i.e. Dispute resolution, troubleshooting customer issues, managing customer complaints, reacting to customer emergency requests.


  • Commercial experience and drive: we seek someone who is passionate to grow with us continuously, both within sales/orders, as well as on a more personal level.
  • Engineering or Business qualification that will compensate that level of expertise. We ideally seek someone with existing knowledge on engineering topics within our industry, e.g. on Clean/Sewage water, pumping stations, flow calculations, drainage, etc.
  • Experience of using a proprietary CRM system (preferable).
  • Existing contacts & relationships with relevant Non Municipal Company(s), Design Engineers and Key Tier 1 / M&E Contractors service biased (preferable).
  • Current or previous membership of relevant industry bodies is advantageous.
  • Full driving license (preferably clean).
  • Ability to forecast and experience with sales strategy planning
  • Of course: living in/around the south-eastern UK area, ideally near the London Area.
