The patented benched geometry of the TOP base optimises the flow over the floor of the pump station. This allows solids to settle very close to the pump inlet, keeping the station clean from sedimentation building up on the floor. Discharge connections are positioned to maximise flow patterns ​over the bottom.​

Problem: Frequent maintenance call outs to unblock pumps and remove solid sedimentation from the pump station.

Solution: TOP has been designed with a sloping geometry floor and integrated discharge connections to ensure controlled high fluid velocities. This results in a dramatic improvement in solids transport that prevents sediment and reduces pumps from clogging.

Solution can be applied to both a new project (designed into the pump station) or an existing pump station that has clogging/sedimentation issues (needs cleaning regularly). The solution can be retrofitted on site with a simple and inexpensive installation process, reducing the chance of pump blockage.

Flygt pumps have the capacity to run safely up to 15 starts per hour, meaning sump volumes can be further reduced. This means a reduction in both initial construction costs and long-term operating costs.

  • Flygt TOP has been designed to work specifically with the N-Series of Flygt pumps to optimise sump velocities and ensure optimum waste removal from the pump sump.
  • TOP is available in standard diameters of 1200mm, 1800mm, 2200mm, 3000mm and 3800mm with depths from 2 to 14 metres, and an internal or external valve chamber.
  • TOP 1800mm diameter Pump Station can be equipped​ with DN 80, DN 100 and DN 150 discharge​ connections. Some larger pumps can then be​ installed.
  • TOP stations are made from either sulphate-resistant cement using calcareous aggregate for maximum durability, or fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) with a minimum design life of 50 years.
