Expanding water and hygiene access to prevent COVID-19 transmission in Côte d'Ivoire

This grant to Eau et Vie Côte d'Ivoire will support the organization’s COVID-19 response. This includes providing access to clean water, distributing hygiene and first need supplies, raising awareness through public health messaging, and protecting staff through the distribution of PPE and hand sanitizer. Eau et Vie Côte d'Ivoire is the local branch of the French NGO Eau et Vie which was created in 2008. In each of its operating locations, Eau et Vie creates two local entities which actions are complementary: a social business and an NGO. The social business, Djii Ni Sii SARL, acts as a multi service operator (water, solid waste management and sanitation services) that is affordable for the most vulnerable urban populations. DNS is in partnership with SODECI, the national water operator. In parallel, the Eau et Vie supports local communities by developing hygiene and environmental awareness campaigns, civil protection training for community members and community strengthening activities.
