The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Shipping and Receiving Parts Coordinator – First Shift.  This position will be responsible to pull parts from a pick list and correctly place incoming stock in the appropriate location.  This position is a support role for our manufacturing assembly.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:                     

  • Receives merchandise: checks and signs delivery slips, Bill of Lading, packing slips, and assists with unloading as necessary.
  • Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods.
  • Updates inventory (ERPLx) system with verified received merchandise.
  • Organizes distribution of merchandise,makes necessary verifications against documents, and handles customer pick-ups.
  • Operates forklift, crane or other equipment to move, load, unload, transport and store goods.
  • Ensures all products are accompanied with travelers, and keeps yard organized with all products clearly labeled.
  • Ensures all products requiring inspection are taken for inspection within 48 hours of receipt.  Responsible for transferring product in and out of inspection within inventory system (ERPLx).
  • Maintains all trash both inside and outside warehouse areas which require a forklift to transfer.
  • Completes and turns in daily checklist to Foreperson.
  • Receive incoming freight from vendors.
  • Package and ship parts and warehouse orders.   
  • Correctly place incoming stock.
  • Pull parts to a pick list for parts and pump orders.
  • Maintain inventory records accurately on the system.
  • Monitor backlog of work and request assistance as required.
  • Support and comply with all safety and 5S requirements related to the position.  Maintains storage areas and ensures area is secure at all times.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • High School Diploma/GED plus 1-2 years of warehouse related experience.
  • Must be competent in material handling using forklifts and cranes.
  • Ability to perform successfully in the stockroom (internal and external stocking areas) and shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communications and teamwork skills.

  • Work in standing or sitting position 8+ hours/shift
  • Considerable movement involving reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting
  • Work requires close attention to lifting and handling of medium weight parts up to 35 lbs.  Heavy parts raised to position with hoist.
  • Average shop conditions with some temperature variations due to seasons
  • Subjected to noisy environment requires wearing of ear plugs.
  • Standard PPE required: safety glasses, ear plugs, safety shoes with toe and metatarsal guards, gloves and work uniform
