THE ROLE: The Mobile Technician - Diesel will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing diesel pumping and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner in the shop or at a customer job site. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   

  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing on fleet equipment between each rental. 
  • Service diesel engines and pump ends. 
  • Commercial Driver License B - Preferred 
  • Perform an initial inspection of Godwin fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose and report damages to Service Manager. 
  • Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment.  
  • Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems, and pump problems. 
  • Perform diagnostic checks using computer technology. 
  • Perform related duties as assigned. 
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities  


  • 3-5 years of diesel experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. 
  • Commercial Driver License B - Preferred 
  • Diagnosing basic mechanical problems 
  • General DC electric and circuit testing skills 
  • General diesel engine component location and identification 
  • Safety practices and procedures 
  • Basic mechanical aptitude 
  • DOT Medical Card 


In this role, the working environment is {insert environment such as frequently outdoors, weather extremities, use of PPE, exposures to hazardous material, loud noise, etc.} and the physical demands may include but not limited to {regularly sitting, prolonged standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, etc.}In addition, this role may {insert travel requirements} and {Indicate if required to work on weekends, nights, on-call as a regular part of the job} 


The estimated salary range for this position is $28 to $30 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the rangeAt Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
