The Role: Xylem Americas seeks to hire a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer that will establish the overall Manufacturing strategy for Sensus/Xylem product lines.  The successful candidate will embrace a team-oriented manufacturing-driven environment and will bring experience designing, implementing and sustaining Manufacturing Product/Processes.

Essential Functions:

• Act as first level escalation point for Manufacturing/Process issues
• DFx (Design For Manufacturability/Assembly)
• Provide hourly capacity per manufacturing Process (including but not limited to time studies and job standardization packages)
• Document and Maintain Manufacturing Process Maps
• Root Cause and Resolve Manufacturing Related Issues
• Lead/Partner with Lean Six Sigma counterparts for Continuous Improvement Initiatives
• Load Routers and other pertinent manufacturing-related data in ERP System
• Initiates and Implement Temporary Manufacturing Specifications
• Manage Engineering Change Notices Release
• Creating/Modifying Manufacturing Work/Rework Instructions
• Process owner for Manufacturing Routings
• Verify initial products and identify manufacturability, design and process deficiencies
• Maintain previously designed and deployed manufacturing equipment and processes, as required
• Continuously refine and improve manufacturing process, methods, and metrics to reduce product cost
• Identify, analyze, and initiate corrective action when product design failures are uncovered by the test and/or process.
• Support new product development initiatives as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience or a MS Degree
• Knowledge of assembly processes
• MS Office software applications
• Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must have ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Physical Demands:                             

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to communicate orally.
• Ability to use hands and fingers dexterously to operate office equipment.
• Must occasionally lift/ transport up to 25 pounds.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment:

• Shop/Job Site: While this position is based in an office setting, there will be daily exposure to a warehouse/shop environment, as this position requires time spent on the production floor.
• Travel: Occasional travel up to 5-10% may be required.
