THE ROLE: The Sr. Financial Analyst will be responsible be responsible for providing overall financial support for achieving performance goals (i.e., operating margins, operating cash flow, inventory turns, A/R Days, A/P Days, cycle time reduction, etc.  Assists the FP&A Manager and Finance Director as required with monthly and quarterly financial submissions and presentation to management as well as ad hoc analysis. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:  To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   

  • Supports the overall forecast and budget for the AWS Segment and WC through understanding of the revenue, margins, expenses, capital, special projects, headcount, etc. ensuring clear understanding of all variances and critical evaluation of input. (Key result: All variances from forecast, budget and prior year can be adequately explained, and improvements that can be made to enhance future forecast accuracy).
  • Prepares the monthly/quarterly/annual reporting requirements for headquarters and internal Senior Leaders
  • Develop and implement financial trend reports to identify areas of opportunity and risks within the business in current financial plan/forecast and on a monthly basis.
  • Maintains investment tracker and works with the team to understand incremental requests and changes to the plan.  Understands and analysis PAR form submission to validate assumptions.  Performs duties of PAR Admin for the AWS Segment – Americas Region.
  • Partner with the Americas Accounting organization to ensure any accounting treatment impacts are accurately and adequately forecasted and understood.
  • Ensure and drive the implementation of standard processes and procedures to ensure data integrity and completeness.
  • Create and drive a continuous improvement culture and with a focus on automation and simplification.
  • Ad hoc analysis as needed by management.  Time would usually be of the essence in these analyses.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organization needs.
  • Support AWS GC and WC Budget/Strat Plan/Forecast
  • Monthly analysis for GC leadership

  • Headcount Cost/Control
  • Alignment of Fcst/Budget/AOP with Functional Leaders
  • Indirect XGP/LSS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or financial/accounting with minimum 5 years of business experience
  • Must have a working knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“US GAAP).
  • Must have the ability to engage business process owners in a direct yet professional manner, thoroughly evaluate business processes, and quickly identify potential control gaps.
  • Requires demonstrated skill in written and oral communications and interview skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and OneStream skills.
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized. Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated

The estimated salary range at this professional level is $95,000 to $115,000 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, Wellness programs, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
