Certification Engineer

We are now looking to expand our Product Development department with a Certification Engineer – Explosionproof products. You will play a key role in driving and maintaining explosionproof regulatory compliance and certification for Xylem’s pump and mixer products for a global market. There is also opportunity to expand your knowledge of safety and standardization within other relevant areas applicable to Xylem’s assortment.
As a Certification Engineer, you participate throughout the products’ full life cycles working close to Technical Product Owners, Project Managers and other R&D functions to identify certification & regulatory compliance needs as well as planning and managing the certification.
Responsibilities
- Lead the approval/certification process towards external Notified Body in cooperation with Project manager, Technical Product Owner, and Lab testing engineer. The focus in this role will be on products intended for use in Hazardous locations (Explosionproof)
- Preparing documentation for new certificate applications and revisions of existing certificates;
- Ensuring that applications are following requirements from Notified Body’s, legislations and standards;
- Managing certificates and other documents related to each approval and making them available at appropriate locations;
- Knowing, understanding and interpreting standards and other governing documents;
- Collect, evaluate and communicate new regulatory requirements, limitations and insights to relevant stakeholders (R&D, marketing, manufacturing units).
- Facilitate audits from Notified Body.
Qualifications
This opportunity requires a person with strong attention to details, high level of integrity, a systematic approach to work, strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
It is to your advantage if you possess good technical understanding, are familiar with the product life cycle, and are a team player with good communication skills with the ability to adapt your message depending on the recipient’s background.
You enjoy solving problems of a regulatory kind. Furthermore, we are looking for a curious person that is good at keeping deadlines.
You most likely have a higher education as an engineer or similar, ideally focused on mechanical engineering. Having experience with EN/IEC 60079-0 & EN IEC 60079-1or equivalent standards would be considered favorable.
Do you have other experience working with standards, certification, or in mechanical engineering in general? You are welcome to apply as well.
Lastly, due to working with both national as well as international stakeholders, you need to be fluent in English and Swedish, both orally and in writing.
