The digital twin was developed by a project team comprising Xylem, AtkinsRealis, Sand Technologies and Siemens, and combines machine learning, advanced analytics and process modelling to create a comprehensive view of wastewater and sludge treatment operations. The solution is helping Severn Trent Water build the capabilities needed to reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency and advance its long-term sustainability objectives by enabling operators to visualise plant performance, test future scenarios and optimise processes in real time.
