Through Xylem Watermark’s mission to provide education and access to safe water to ensure healthy lives, gender equality and resilient communities, 2019 was a milestone year for the program. We expanded our employee engagement by leveraging our existing program platform, and launched a new stakeholder engagement initiative as well as a new Global Disaster Response Team and non-profit partnerships. I am so proud of our entire employee and stakeholder commitment to collaborate around the world to help solve water for communities facing the most severe water challenges. Through the dedication of Xylem employees volunteering in their own communities, we saw an increase of 16 percent participation in the program from 2018 to 2019. This growth of engagement shows how our mission is so deeply integrated in the organization.
By leveraging our technology and expertise, Xylem Watermark’s humanitarian disaster response team and partnerships, we were able to effectively respond to 11 global disasters. This reflects the commitment, skills leadership of our colleagues and partners and their passion to make a difference. I am honored to be a part of this unique structure and operation.
We are looking forward to sharing more about our customers’ and partners’ commitment to work with us and our non-profit partners in communities through our Stakeholder Partner Community Grants Program in 2020, as well as sharing how Xylem Watermark’s extended commitment to COVID-19 initiatives accelerated program engagement.
