The Role: Lead Engineer / Assistant Manager – Hydraulic Design at Vadodara India Technology Center.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of new hydraulics for new Product development projects.
  • Participates in the development and advancement of the hydraulic design techniques including engineering tools.
  • Provide Design Engineering support to Xylem global hydraulic technology team.
  • Review results of pump performance tests and discuss results with cross functional team.
  • Leads or assists in the resolution of problems during testing or in the field.
  • Effectively and correctly apply engineering concepts to suit design requirements with minimal assistance / guidance.
  • Lead and deliver the small to big scale Projects with Cross functional teams.
  • Support global Project managers for schedule development and breaking down the activities.
  • Complete project assignments per established schedules.
  • Able to read and understand the manufacturing drawings
  • Able to create the manufacturing drawings for Hydraulic components.

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • M.E. / MTech, Mechanical / Turbomachinery
  • 5+ years of experience in the design of pumps or rotating equipment including hydraulic design

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Experience with HI, API 610 and ISO standard requirements is desirable.
  • Experience in designing hydraulic centrifugal pump components is desirable.
  • Experience with pump testing, interpreting results and problem solving a plus
  • Working knowledge of Design/Simulation including the ability to apply it in the design and evaluation of turbomachinery hydraulics.
  • Experience with CFturbo and ANSYS CFD preferred but not required.
  • Field experience with solving site hydraulic problems a plus
  • Strong Technical fundamentals in Machine Design and Fluid Hydraulics.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge in basic concepts of foundry, machining and fabrication processes.
  • Knowledge of international & industry standards for Rotating Equipment design.
  • Knowledge and Ability to apply engineering concepts.
  • Knows & uses the fundamental concepts, practices & procedures of particular field of specification.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive
  • goals and high quality standard
  • Must be team focused, excellent communicator and collaborative and have demonstrated
  • experience working with cross functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Design and Development of Centrifugal; Pumps, Rotating Equipment or Turbines.
  • Experience in System Design or Application Engineering exposure in Water business.
  • Knowledge of DMAIC / DFSS – Six-Sigma
  • Knowledge in Project Management & Tracking tools
