When a broken shaft caused a malfunction in one of the brush aerators at the village of Liberty, New York Wastewater Treatment Plant, the village worked with its engineers to develop a plan for repair and upgrade. A new Xylem aeration system, including Sanitaire Silver Series II membrane disc diffusers and Flygt 4410 low speed mixers, produced substantial energy savings while providing more stable treatment.
