Xylem awarded contract for Beijing drainage pumping project

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May. 15, 2013--
Xylem Inc. (NYSE: XYL), a leading global water technology company

announced today that it has been awarded a $2.9 million contract from
the Beijing Drainage Group (BDG) to install Xylem’s Flygt® pumps in 19
pumping stations in downtown Beijing. The new Flygt submersible
centrifugal sewage pumps will improve the stations’ water storage
capability and prevent overflow by providing more efficient drainage and
flood control.

design, excavation, civil work, installation and commissioning, while

Beijing Drainage Group Co. Ltd is a wholly state-owned wastewater
utility established with the approval of the Beijing Municipal
Government.
