Jeff: And today, we're going to instruct you on how to fix a squeaking handle on your manual toilet.

Mike: Okay, so this is going to be a simple procedure. First things first, wear gloves. You're coming in contact with human waste, so you want to make sure that you're wearing protection. Twist and lock handle. Unlock it and lift it up and you'll see a couple flat sides on that shaft seal assembly. On the older models, you'll just see it kind of like a nut looking thing. Crescent wrench. Back out that shaft seal, and with a little bit of silicone or lithium grease we want to lubricate this side of the shaft. Give yourself a pretty good amount. It doesn't have to go on the entire shaft assembly, just for the majority of it. Remember, save a little bit on your finger. This goes back down. A really thin coating on the outside. You want to kind of keep everything nice and clean. And then with the crescent wrench, go ahead and tighten that seal assembly down with the unlock on the left right hand side. And there you go. You just lubricated that shaft and hopefully it gets rid of the squeaking.

This is a pretty simple exercise. All you'll need is some lithium grease or silicone grease and a crescent wrench, and you should be good to go.
