Why Configuration is Important
When setting up a Doppler instrument to collect flow data in a pipe, the flow number is only as good as the entering arguments. One common assumption is that the pipe diameter can be read from the engineering drawings. Sometimes this is accurate, sometimes not. We suggest that you take at least 3 measurements of the pipe diameter with a tape measure, at different angles, then take an average of these values, for the most accurate input of this variable.
