Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

- With our Public Utilities and Industrial customers, consultatively advise on the best practices and develop the solution stack of hardware, communications and software to solve critical issues like non-revenue water, workforce shortages, ageing infrastructure, energy efficiency, water scarcity, and regulatory complianced
- Provide architecture and design oversight with our partners and other third parties in Romania and surrounding Eastern Europe countries
- Lead design workshops with customers with the intent to define an overall technical solution, understand the desired customer outcomes, and propose a solution for any gaps between the technical and desired customer requirements
- Develop and evaluate partnerships to close gaps in the solution stack that would produce the desired customer outcomes
- Assist customers with issues that arise either during or after deployments and continue to foster long-term customer relationships
- In cooperation with product management, define and incorporate client feedback into future development plans
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert to internal and external customers for solution design, integration and implementation of advanced solutions for the clean water distribution network, clean water treatment, wastewater collection network and wastewater treatment
- Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
Required Qualifications:
Minimal education & experience, essential skills & abilities and required license/certification to perform this job.
- Proficient in oral and written Romanian and English
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent advanced degrees like software engineering, mathematics, or computer science
- 5-10 years experience with Utility (Water, Gas, Electricity, Telecommunication) customers desired
- Experience serving as a consultant for technically oriented customers; experience with public utilities or industrial customers preferred
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms and Low Power Wide Area networks
- Have experience interfacing to databases, analytics, big data systems or business intelligence products
- Experience creating Technical Requirements Documents and Business Requirements Documents for customers
- Experience serving as a consultant for technically oriented customers
- Self-motivated; ability to work under general supervision; receptive and supportive of team efforts
- Demonstrated creativity to problem solving leveraging existing portfolio and external partners
- Customer focus and customer facing experience is required for this role.
