The Role:

We seek additional talent to support the planning, process design, solution implementation and change management of key transactional business processes. This key role will engage employees in process improvement projects, which will ultimately increase engagement and ensure ownership and sustainability of improvement initiatives at Sensus.

The ­Sr. CI Business Process Specialist will lead and support critical business process improvements and projects across the organization, that are identified by senior leadership and product leadership teams. The candidate will work to meet or exceed all stated objectives defined in the project portfolio and will report to the Director, Continuous Improvement located in Morrisville, NC. This position will be in the Morrisville/Raleigh North Carolina area and offices. Some domestic travel may be required to other US site locations.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

Transactional Excellence CI Planning:

  • Collaborates with the Sensus Director, Continuous Improvement and other CI team members to organize, align work schedules and plans to meet established priorities.

Design, Implement & Improve Sensus Core Processes/Execute CI Projects:

  • Facilitates Workshops, Kaizen Events and other business process projects,
  • Leads the completion of process improvement/redesign projects across functions and departments,
  • Applies Xylem CI toolkit and approaches to redesign business processes and to solve complex problems,
  • Coaches and mentors process owners and stakeholders through multiple strategic improvement engagements
  • Provides change management support and removes organizational barriers,
  • Understands and applies data gathering techniques and documentation, and
  • Shares best practices with other site Continuous Improvement staff within and occasionally across Xylem businesses.

Mobilize problem solving teams to support streamlined processes and achieve any cost savings objective:

  • Utilizes 8-step problem solving model and other CI tools to align future state solutions, and
  • Actively supports process owners and teams during implementation of newly designed solutions and processes.

Administer, analyze, and report all CI Engagement & Team Guru metrics:

  • Coordinate and communicate with all CI team managers to collect key CI metrics in a timely manner,
  • Provide accurate reporting and analysis and on CI key performance indicators (KPIs), and
  • Post accurate and timely KPIs into Xylem’s reporting platform (e.g. Team Guru).
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • BS/BA Degree or Equivalent,
  • 5-10 years of successful leadership in executing continuous improvements: Business Process / Lean / Six Sigma programs and projects that have resulted in efficiency, effectiveness and tangible financial benefits,
  • Hands-on and demonstrated experience with transactional excellence initiatives, process design methodologies; Business Process Management (BPM), Business Process Reengineering (BPR), Business Process Improvement (BPI), Continuous Improvement and lean and / or Six Sigma,
  • Effectively applies facilitation skills across functional teams and stakeholders,
  • Ability to interact professionally and work across all levels to lead and influences stakeholders,
  • Understanding of change management principles and successful application and experience of supporting teams and individuals though the change process,
  • Ability to host and facilitate / co-facilitate small to large groups in virtual events, using common collaborative tools, such as Zoom and Klaxoon,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and
  • Strong project management skills and able to deliver on commitments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean certification strongly preferred, and
  • Green Belt/Black Belt cert desired (Lean or Six Sigma).
