Xylem Inc. named to Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 13, 2012-- Xylem Inc. (NYSE: XYL), a leading global water technology company focused on addressing the world’s most challenging water issues, has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index in its first year as a standalone company. Xylem is one of 340 companies recognized on this year’s World Index and one of 140 companies recognized on this year’s North America Index.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) follow a best-in-class approach, including companies across all industries that outperform their peers in numerous sustainability metrics. SAM, an investment boutique focused exclusively on sustainability investing, invites the world’s 2,500 largest companies (by free-float market capitalization) to report annually on their sustainability performance.
