The city of Sublimity reduced maintenance costs for a problematic wastewater pump station while creating flow capacity for future residential growth.

Xylem was tasked with designing a seep collection system to collect water from a low volume seep through the wall of a decommissioned fly ash pond. The sump was located in an active river floodplain that flooded with as little as 1-2 inches of rain, so the customer needed an automatic shutdown when the river covered the sump.

A customer in Perú needed to drain water as its large open-pit mine operation reached as deep as 1,200 ft (365 m) below the surface. The discovery of more copper in the mine, and an expected excess of water during rainy summer months also prompted the company to act. They sought a remote solution for monitoring and controlling their pumping system, particularly as routing electrical power became more difficult the deeper they dug....
