The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Production Planning Manager for our Morton Grove, IL facility. The Production Planning Manager within AWS will lead the Morton Grove Supply Chain team that is responsible for the planning and procurement of materials, material and information flow, and the management and control of inventory in achieving the business objectives. 

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the scheduling function and materials through the production cycle to assure high on-time delivery performance.
  • Works with Operations Manager to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Works with Operations Manager to develop models for plant capacity, materials requirement, and labor forecasting in support of Sales and Operations Planning cycle.
  • Monitors Raw Material, WIP and Finished Goods for materials availability, financial tracking and in support of company goals.
  • Develop and execute inventory cycle count process to assure high inventory accuracies.
  • Lead periodic physical inventory process
  • Work directly with corporate procurement to assure a best quality, lowest cost reliable supply chain
  • Provide systems expertise to the site in terms of effective use of our ERP system
  • Provide ongoing support to areas subject matter experts on the effective use of the ERP system.
  • Lead Lean initiatives utilizing the ERP system to streamline the overall materials management process
  • Additional duties as required
  • Production schedule
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • BS Engineering Industrial/Mechanical or technical field or BS/BA Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of supervisory/managerial experience
  • APICS CPIM (required)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt / Lead Master certifications (preferred)

  • Office: Administrative - computer and telephone usage. Microsoft Office essential. Operation of basic office equipment and machinery; such as, fax machines, copiers and printers.
  • Shop/Job Site: Daily Exposure to warehouse/shop. Exposure to undesirable field elements at treatment plants or contractors site
