Recurring droughts led to El Paso Water Utilities to develop the Fred Hervey Water Reclamation Plant, the nation's first full-scale wastewater reclamation plant to use tertiary treatment to restore wastewater to national and state potable water standards. When the facility's ozone system needed to be replaced, they selected Xylem's Wedeco ozone system, ensuring that the treated water stays below state discharge permit levels for reclaimed water.
