The Smith-Blair 482 steel cast line cap is designed for remove and reinstall and block applications. Perfect for line testing and dependable for pipe-end sealing, this product provides a reliable solution for capping pipe ends. The cap is engineered to deliver secure sealing performance while maintaining the flexibility to be removed and reinstalled as needed for testing or maintenance operations.
The 482 cast line cap features a ductile iron sleeve manufactured to ASTM A-536 specifications, with ends that have smooth inside taper for uniform gasket seating. Gaskets are made of Nitrile (Buna N) certified to NSF®/ANSI 61-G, compounded to produce superior storage and performance characteristics while resisting water, acids, alkalies, most aliphatic hydrocarbons and many other chemicals, with a temperature range of -20°F to 180°F. Follower flanges are constructed of ductile iron ASTM A536, designed for high strength/weight ratio. Bolts and nuts are high-strength, low alloy steel with heavy, semi-finished hexagon nuts, with optional stainless steel and carbon steel ASTM A307 electro-galvanized with di-chromate seal. The product features a Flexi-Coat® Fusion-Bonded Epoxy Finish.
