After finishing retrofitting its combined sewer overflow system to a separate sanitary and stormwater system, the City of Grand Rapids needed to get a better understanding of the infiltration and inflow to ensure compliance that allowed them zero overflow events of any kind, except as part of a wet weather event of a magnitude in excess of a 24-hour, 25-year storm.
This webinar will discuss how real-time decision support and digital modeling empowered the City of Grand Rapids, Michigan to solve their sewer overflows as well as reduce their inflow and infiltration challenge. Learn how Xylem Vue powered by GoAigua's SSO/CSO Prediction and Prevention is being utilized by the City to certify performance of their sanitary system in the final phase of the Wet Weather Correction Program for the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) regulators — a project that not only allowed them to improve system performance and customer service, but reduced the CapEx required to do so from the original estimate of $1 billion down to $30-50 million.
