In the aftermath of Harvey and Irma, Xylem is here to help

There has been little relief since Hurricane Harvey dumped record-breaking rains on the Houston area of Texas. Harvey had barely moved on when Hurricane Irma devastated the Florida Keys and the state's west coast. This extremely active hurricane season follows a recent "hurricane drought", with very few major storms making landfall on the US coast over the last decade.

Harvey’s record-setting rainfall has caused catastrophic flooding, destroying homes, businesses and communities across the southwest, while Irma has destroyed a quarter of homes on the Florida Keys.

Our local emergency teams in Texas and Florida have been working to support communities throughout these unprecedented weather events, beginning before both Harvey and Irma hit, by putting people and dewatering equipment in place that would help to minimize their impact.

As the extensive recovery efforts begin, our teams are ready to play their part and stand side by side with communities across the affected regions. Undoubtedly, we have a long road ahead but our commitment to help the communities and businesses impacted by this calamitous hurricane season – our commitment to solve water – has never been stronger.
