Xylem's Smith-Blair 622 Fabricated Steel Tapping Sleeve lets you tap size-on-size and reducing branch connections, or install valves and service equipment, on pipe 4" and larger.

The 622's roll-resistant gasket won't bind and seals tighter as line pressure increases. The Flexi-Coat® fusion-bonded epoxy finish provides superior corrosion resistance. No special tools are needed to install it, and the built-in ¾" test outlet lets you pressure-test the connection before you tap (not available in standard 4"x4").

Xylem's Smith-Blair 622 Fabricated Steel Tapping Sleeve is built for tapping size-on-size and reducing branch connections on new or existing pipe, and for installing valves and other miscellaneous service equipment.

The 622 covers nominal pipe sizes from 4" and larger. Working pressure is rated up to 175 PSI, with a 262 PSI test pressure. The working pressure of a tapping sleeve decreases as pipe diameter increases (regardless of manufacturer). For a particular
installation, the allowable working pressure will be determined by the pipe size, type of pipe, type of clamp, type and extent of damage, service conditions, environmental conditions, and installation workmanship.

The sleeve is compatible with Steel, Cast Iron, Asbestos Cement, PVC, Ductile Iron, other pipe.
