Vice President and General Manager, Heavy Industries

As Vice President and General Manager of Heavy Industries at Xylem, Tom has full P&L responsibility for the industrial water solutions business serving customers across North America. He leads a 700-employee organization delivering capital projects, aftermarket solutions and critical operating services for large industrial customers.

Tom is an accomplished water industry executive with more than 30 years of experience improving business performance, developing growth strategies, integrating acquisitions and leading complex organizational transformations. His career spans industrial and municipal water treatment, project execution, service operations, manufacturing, supply chain and emerging water technologies. Before assuming his current role in May 2024, he led Xylem’s Municipal Services business, focused on municipal solutions and emerging contaminants. He previously managed the industrial solutions and services business across the southern United States.

Earlier in his career, Tom held senior leadership roles at Water Planet, Kore Infrastructure, Evoqua Water Technologies, Siemens and US Filter. His experience includes directing $300 million in international municipal and industrial capital projects, leading a team of more than 300 professionals across four geographic regions, executing business turnarounds, launching new technologies and integrating operations across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Tom holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Montana State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Oregon and Alaska.
