Overheating controller

The S1-200 controller is built robustly. However, to ensure your equipment lasts as long as possible, install it in a place where it is protected from the elements.

While it is designed for outdoor use, it is best kept in shade to avoid overheating.

If the controller overheats, it will reduce power. If it gets too hot it will shut off until it cools down again. This is part of active temperature management.

Installing the controller underneath a module like in the picture below will provide shade.
